RULES OF THE COMPETITION
Competition Organiser
The organizer and promoter of the Competition is The Codemasters Software Company Limited of PO Box 6 Leamington Spa Warwickshire CV47 2ZT, UK, hereinafter referred to as “the Arranger”. The decisions of the Arranger's judging committee concerning all matters related to this competition are final.
Entry Requirements
Before entering the Competition, you will be presumed to have read and accepted the following information, Arranger's legal notice and the technical rules and instructions for the Competition as appearing at www.lotro-europe.com/competition/termsandconditions (“Competition Rules Website”). If you fail to comply with the Rules the Arranger's judging committee may at its sole discretion disqualify you from the Competition and an alternate winner may be selected from the eligible entries.
The Competition is open to anyone who can comply with these Competition Rules within Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and South Africa. You may only submit one entry per email address per week. No admission fee or purchase is necessary to participate.
The Competition is open from 17:00 BST on 31st July 2008 to 23:59 BST on 28 October 2008.
How to Enter
Via LOTRO Subscription:
Beginning on or about 31st July 2008, sign in to your Lord of the Rings Online (“LOTRO”) account using your existing username and password, proceed to the promotional website at www.lotro-europe.com/competition (the “Competition Website”), answer the question posed and log-in to the LOTRO game world. You must have correctly answered the question posed and logged into the LOTRO game world no later than 11:59 BST on the Sunday preceding the Monday weekly random draw in order to be entered into that weeks competition. A new question will be posted each week. The winners will be the entrants who supply the correct answer to the question posed and whose entries are chosen by the Arranger's judging committee via a random drawing from all correct answers received that week. The random drawing will be held on a weekly basis at 12:00 BST on each Monday for the duration of the Competition.
Via LOTRO Trial
Beginning on or about 31st July 2008, download the LOTRO trial from www.codemasters.com/trylotro. You will be able to trial the game for a 14 day period Once your LOTRO Trial Game account has been activated, proceed to the Competition Website at www.lotro-europe.com/competition, answer the question posed and log-in to the LOTRO game world. You must have correctly answered the question posed and logged into the LOTRO game world no later than 11:59 BST on the Sunday preceding the Monday weekly random draw in order to be entered into that weeks competition. A new question will be posted each week. The winners will be the entrants who supply the correct answer to the question posed and whose entries are chosen by the Arranger's judging committee via a random drawing from all correct answers received that week. The random drawing will be held on a weekly basis at 12:00 BST on each Monday for the duration of the Competition.
Once your trial Period has expired, in order to enter each weekly competition please send an email to codem@codemasters.com, using the subject line “LOTRO Spend Your Summer in Middle-earth Competition”, with your answer to the question posed that week. Your email must also contain your name, LOTRO username, dates of your trial period and email address. Emails must be received by Arranger no later than 11:59 BST on the Sunday preceding the Monday weekly random draw. If all of the information required is not given, your incomplete entry may, at the Arranger's discretion, be considered invalid. You may only submit one entry per email address per week. The winners will be the entrants whose entries are chosen by the Arranger's judging committee via a random drawing from all emails and correct answers received that week. The random drawing will be held on a weekly basis on each Monday for the duration of the Competition.
Winning Entry
Ten Winning Entries will be drawn randomly on a weekly basis by Arranger's judging committee for the duration of the Competition. The random drawing will be held on a weekly basis at 12:00 BST on each Monday for the duration of the Competition. The Winning Entries shall be announced each week on 17:00 BST on Monday for the duration of the Competition.
Notification of Wining Entry
The Arranger shall publish the Winning Entrant's details on the http://www.lotro-europe.com/news.php?type=news Website. The Winning Entrants will also be notified by email. Each Winning Entrant must acknowledge his/her acceptance of the Prize to the Arranger within seven (7) days from receiving notification from Arranger and in a manner as directed by the Arranger otherwise an alternative Winning Entry may be drawn from the remaining entries.
In the event the Arranger is unable to contact a Winning Entrant within seven (7) days after the Winning Entrant has been selected by Arranger or the winner fails to comply with any of the eligibility requirements then an alternative entrant will be awarded the Weekly Prize.
Participant's personal data may be used for notifying the winner of the Competition and publishing their names on http://www.lotro-europe.com/news.php?type=news Website and unless the entrant indicates otherwise may also be used to provide entrants with further information on Arranger and its products. By entering the Competition you agree to your name and likeness, hometown, and biographical information in advertising and promotion, in any and all media without further compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law.
General
The Arranger will not engage itself to any communication on the procedural issues or the results of the Competition.
Entries and prizes are non-transferrable. By participating you agree that any dispute with regard to the conduct of the Competition, rule interpretation or award of prizes shall be submitted to the Arranger whose decision shall be final and binding. The Arranger reserves the right to cancel, change, modify or extend any and all aspects of this competition without prior notification to you.
No cash substitution, transfer or assignment of prizes will be allowed. The Arranger accepts no other liability whatsoever that may be caused by any prize awarded to any person in the Competition.
The Arranger accepts no liability for lost, damaged, misdirected or delayed entries or any technical difficulties affecting the end result of the Competition or the entry to the Competition. By participating, you, and the winners, by acceptance of their prizes, agree to release and hold harmless Arranger, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and their officers, employees, agents and representatives from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses, which may be sustained directly or indirectly in connection with participation in the Competition or with the receipt, ownership or use of the prizes or while preparing for, participating in, and/or travelling to any prize-related activity.
The Arranger expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery, subsequent use of the prize awarded and/or while preparing for, participating in, and/or travelling to any prize-related activity. The provisions of this rule may not be applicable in full or in part in some jurisdictions. The liability of the Arranger shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Prizes will be delivered to the winners within 28 days.
Neither the Arranger or its agencies shall not be responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Competition which may limit the ability to play or participate, or by any human error which may occur in the conduct of the Competition or in the processing of the entries in the Competition. If for any reason, (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any cause beyond the control of the Arranger, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Competition), the Competition are not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, the Arranger shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.

The Competition is subject to the laws of England. Void where restricted or prohibited by law.
