LOTRO Trial Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ European Trial Programs:
1. Only players located in the United Kingdom and Europe who acquire (through retail DVD purchase, giveaway trial DVD or Online promotion [Note that COG can provide free trial activation codes online, but is not currently authorized to provide digital downloads of the game]) a Trial Activation Code for the online PC game known as The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ (the “Game”) are eligible for a Game Trial. Participation in a Game Trial is optional and voluntary.
2. LOTRO Game Trials provide access to a trial version of the Game only. The full version of the Game is sold separately. Purchase of the Retail version of the Game and activation of the associated Retail Activation Code is required after the Trial has ended.
3. LOTRO Game Trials will expire after the number of days specified in the applicable Trial materials (either 3 days or 7 days, depending on the Trial). Gameplay is subject to network and server availability and may be interrupted by the service provider for testing and system and software updates. Also, it is possible to preserve a Trial character and associated levels and inventories when upgrading to a Retail account from the associated Trial account).
4. Free Trial accounts have restrictions in place that prevent the use certain features and functionality, such as in-game mail, auction houses, trading with other players, and the sending of tells in the Game. All of these limitations are removed once a Free Trial player upgrades to a standard account.
5. Purchases are non-refundable, subject to applicable laws. Trial Activation Codes have no cash value and are non-transferable.
6. Gameplay requires Internet connection. Players are responsible for their own telecommunications charges. Online subscription fees apply to the Retail version of the game. Players’ personal computers must meet certain minimum system requirements to play the Game; however, the recommended system requirements are advised for better performance. System requirements may change from time to time.
7. Acceptance of and compliance with the applicable end user license agreement, code of conduct and terms of service is required.
8. Visit www.lotro-europe.com for further information regarding Trial Programs or updates to these terms and conditions. The Game Trial program is void where prohibited.
